Kolb's Fine Meats and Sausage is now... McLaughlin Meats

On June 2, 2025 Aaron & Chelsea McLaughlin bought Kolb's Fine Meats and Sausage Olds and Red Deer.

For the past 25 years, Aaron McLaughlin has worked in the meat industry. He has had the good fortune to work in some wonderful locations and with some truly extraordinary people over this period. When he was a small child, he would assist his family in making sausage in the kitchen, which sparked his interest in the meat industry. From there, his professional path led him to high-end butcher shops, large grocery chains, abattoirs, small butcher shops, and teaching at Olds College's National Meat Training Center.

Aaron had received formal training in SAIT's Retail Meat Cutting Program, where he knew his journey had only just begun. From a meat manager with Safeway to working at Calgary's bustling Bon Ton meat market, he then relocated to Didsbury to work at an abattoir and eventually accepting a position at Olds College as an instructor.  Aaron worked for Kolb's Fine Meats in their early days at the Olds store and off and on throughout the years following. His career then took him to consulting and training. With his most notable work being done for Canada Pork and Canada Beef.

 Today, Aaron is bringing all aspects of his experience together to pour into his own operation. With the help of his wife Chelsea, they look forward to serving the communities of Olds, Red Deer and surrounding areas.
